The Aquaverde Shower to FlowerTM is a residential graywater irrigation system that utilizes modern radio and sensor technology to automate the collection, treatment, and irrigation of home graywater.

 

This novel combination of modern technology creates a smart home plumbing system that is able to determine when graywater is flowing and when blackwater is flowing. If blackwater is flowing, the system ensures that all water flows into sewer drain. When the system determines that graywater is flowing and blackwater is not, it begins collection of graywater into the filtration and UV disinfection system. After removal of particulates and disinfection by the UV system the graywater is then distributed via subsurface drip irrigation lines to the root zone of the home’s landscape.

 

The system consists of small radio sensors attached to the home plumbing, a master controller mounted in the garage, a collection valve in the sewer line, and a water treatment process incorporating filters, a UV disinfection unit and an auto-backflushing filter which translates into homeowner having no filtration media to be reordered or discarded.
